When we were children, my neighbor and I went hunting with our fathers. We camped in the foothills of Mount St. Helens. It was fall and salmon swam up stream to spawn in a creek beside our camp. My neighbor and I in our tall boots waded into the stream and stood in the middle of salmon rushing upstream to end their life and to start another generation.
